tinted windows, climate control and webasto heating. There is
a DVD player, toilet and washroom and a hostess service is provided.
On the coach there are only 40 seats instead of the usual 49 thus
providing extra leg room for your comfort. Travel rugs are
also provided for our passengers to use. Smoking is not
permitted on the coach but we do have plenty of comfort breaks.
Accommodation
is on a half board basis, staying at the Hotel Dollinger, Innsbruck.
This recently refurbished hotel is situated on the north side of Innsbruck,
near the Hungerburg/Seegrube ski area. All the rooms are traditionally
furnished and have private facilities. There is a large bar and three
dining rooms. The food is very good with a garni type breakfast.
There is a heated ski and boot room and a lift services all floors.
The staff are very friendly and speak good English.
A
welcome evening, quiz night, swimming at the super pool at Axams,
ten pin bowling and presentation night are amongst the activities we
organise. In Innsbruck there are theatres, discos, bars,
cafes, the Alpine zoo, museums and a large Art Gallery etc as well
as plenty of shops.
We have our own programme for the skiing and snowboarding week. On Sunday afternoon we will ski behind the hotel at the Seegrube for the afternoon. Monday to Friday we plan to ski at Seefeld, Schlick 2000, Axamer Lizum, Solden and have a day in Italy.
For those who do not wish to go to the resorts we are skiing at,
there are other resorts around the
Innsbruck area, including Igls, Tulfes and the Stubai Glacier.
Provided there are enough people, we can arrange for one of
Innsbruck's ski buses to come and collect a group from our hotel and
you will be taken to the Landestheater where all the ski buses meet.
Skiers then transfer to the bus going to their chosen area to ski.
At the end of the ski day, the ski bus will be waiting but do leave
on time from the ski areas to return to the Landestheater.
Skiers then change onto the ski bus allocated for the Dollinger, and
when all the ski buses have arrived from the various ski areas the
bus will return to the hotel.
The snow guarantee is the Stubai Glacier where skiers are taken if the snow conditions at the other resorts are not good.
For
beginner skiers we use Ski School Innsbruck. The instructors
will come on our coach with us to the resort we are skiing at that
day. Most of the instructors speak good English. There
are wide gentle pistes and easy drag lifts for your first days on
skis. As you improve there is more choice of pistes of varying
difficulties for you to try.
The choice of blue and red runs is excellent. As the Innsbruck ski bus system allows skiers to go to different resorts each day, there is every opportunity to improve and put miles under your skis.
Most advanced skiers will find plenty to do and enjoy, especially at Axamer Lizum which was used for the 1978 winter Olympics.
